Updated COVID 19 Guidance
3.10.21
The IDPH & the CDC have recently given new guidelines regarding COVID 19 safety protocol. The biggest change we want to let our families know about is specific to temperature and symptom screenings.
The IDPH and the CDC no longer recommend screenings for students upon arrival to school. Therefore, D-W Schools will no longer complete temperature checks and symptom screenings at the doors as students enter the building each day. The updated recommendation is for school districts to require self-certification and verification for all students. This means that each family should take their child(ren)’s temperature and verify that they do not have any COVID-19 symptoms before sending them to school each day.
Individuals who have a temperature greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or currently have known symptoms of COVID-19, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, fatigue, muscle and body aches, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, vomiting, or diarrhea may not enter the school buildings. These individuals will still need an alternative diagnosis from a doctor or a negative COVID-19 test result to return to school after they no longer are displaying symptoms.
