Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given by the Deland-Weldon Board of Education of School District # 57 in the counties of Piatt and DeWitt, State of Illinois, that a hearing will be held to take public testimony regarding the continuation of the waiver allowing for two full school improvement days.  Notice is further given that the public hearing on said waiver will be held on November 12, 2025 at 6:30PM in the board room located in the elementary building.

Notice is hereby given by the Deland-Weldon Board of Education of School District # 57 in the counties of Piatt and DeWitt, State of Illinois, that a hearing will be held to take public testimony regarding waiver of the 5% administrative cost limitation.  Notice is further given that the public hearing on said waiver will be held on November 12, 2025 at 6:30PM in the board room located in the elementary building.

Notice of Truth in Taxation Hearing

1. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for DeLand-Weldon CUSD #57 for 2025 payable 2026 will be held on Wednesday, December 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room in the Elementary Building at 2311 N 300 E Rd, Weldon, Illinois.  Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing district may contact Dr. Michael Tresnak, Superintendent, 304 E. Illinois Route 10, DeLand, IL 61839, 309-928-7691.

2. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for 2024 were $3,568,007. The adopted corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2025 are $4,484,571. This represents a 25.69 % increase over the previous year.

3. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2024 were $367,847.  The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2025 are $560,183. This represents a 52.29 % increase over the previous year.

4. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2024 were $3,935,855.  The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2025 are $5,044,754. This represents a 28.17% increase over the previous year.
